Established in 1955, the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi is the oldest known business school outside North America. Its academic linkages span over 50 institutions and universities, including The World Bank, Microsoft, SAP, and others. Despite the growth of business schools, IBA has maintained its status as the premier business school of not only Karachi, but the whole of Pakistan as well. IBA values merit over monetary value, hence offers a wide range of scholarships for deserving candidates. Apart from being acknowledged for its wide range of diverse faculty of over 50% PHDs, IBA is also known for its state of the art physical and technical infrastructure. Recently, IBA has also been working on NBCAC, AMBA, and AACSB, the American accreditations. The institute is home to different academic programs, exploring the likes of liberal arts and business administration. To allow the students to indulge in other areas of interests, there has also been development of the Centres of Excellence, which include: Centre for Excellence in Journalism (CEJ), Centre for Business and Economics Research (CBER), Centre for Executive Education, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) and the Ardeshir Cowasjee Centre for Writing. These compliment the mission of the institution of establishing a platform for crucial thinking and giving back to the society.
